Present day automobiles are becoming exciting, fun to own / hire / lease. It is also getting technologically complex by the day. For Indian roads to be safe automobile maintenance and repair skills can no longer be job of conventional road side ustaads but it requires ustaads (experts) who can keep themselves current on knowledge and maintenance / repair skills as technology keeps progressing. ASDC has the mandate to lead this transition and has strong support of most automobile OEMs to enhance skill base for the industry be it at authorized dealers or multi brand service outlets or specialized repair shops. Personally I am very happy to be able to play a small role in shaping safer roads for future!

After completing my 10th grade from my hometown in Pune, I started in a Full Term Apprenticeship Course in 2016 at Tata Motors, Pune, in Mechanic Motor Vehicle (MMV) Trade. Being well trained on various skilling techniques covering mechanical and electrical aspects, I was given an opportunity to work on various cars which helped me polish my skills. The experience at Tata Motors further boosted my confidence to give my best in India Skills Competition 2018 where I won a gold medal. I am looking forward to repeat the success story at Kazan.
Life’s a struggle when one has to earn their bread. My father works hard to earn a living by starting his day at 6 in the morning. I’ve always wanted to support him and other members of my family. I heard about Orion Edutech and the automotive course when I shared my problems with a school teacher of mine. The teachers groomed me perfectly as an automotive service technician. After completing the course at Orion Eductech for 3 months I got a job at EDP Service- Maruti Suzuki with a salary of 13,000/- p.m. It is not merely a job for me but, is the key to my family’s happiness.
I belong to a very small town in West Bengal. After completing my graduation, I had no job in hand. Frustration, stress and failure completely corned me. My relatives left no gap in comparing me with their young ones which made me feel worthless. A friend of mine told me about the training provided by Orion Edutech and their skill development course which guarantees placements. Working with gears, engines and clutch, transmission- chain system, brake system, electric system, we learned everything- both theoretically and practically. Today I am successfully working with Tech Mahindra, earning 10,258/- p.m. I owe Orion Edutech all my happiness today.
After completing my graduation I was searching for opportunities that would help me lead a dignified life. I heard about Orion Edutech from my friend who was pursuing a course from there. It reflected good placement records in the past years. Even though the first few classes were difficult to understand, the lectures and handouts provided helped us clear doubts. Theory and practical classes were accompanied by industry visit sessions which made lessons easier and also briefed about the working of an automotive industry. Demo interview sessions were organized which prepared us for the forthcoming interviews. I am now working with Tech Mahindra withdrawing 10,258 as my salary. I am thankful to all my teachers to help me reach a where I stand today.
Belonging to an economically weaker strata of the society, my father could not afford to feed the family and send me school at the same time. During my 10th grade, father lost his job and I was to take care of my family. My friend recommended me about the IL&FS Institute of Skills in Delhi, its reputation in skill training and guaranteed placements. After being trained as a welder and upon completion of my training, I was placed at Hi-Tech Enviro Systems, manufacturers of industrial machines and plants, at Gurugram, at a salary of Rs. 15,500 per month. My training has immensely benefitted me.
Even after having a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, I was not able to land a decent job. For the ones that were available, I was either over-qualified or under-skilled. It was after when I visited IIS I was happy to be a part of the high-quality training provided by them to job-seekers like me. The institute is a state-of-art with labs simulated to the workplace to help trainees easily adapt to the work environment after placements. It was the training that empowered me and gave me the necessary confidence to face the world. I thank Petrofac and IL&FS Skills who helped me realize my dreams.
Very First, i would like to thank you for organizing joint ToT between ASDC & NPTC, UK on Electric vehicle which is very unique in its structure. As i know, success of any training program largely depends on Effective pedagogies used and designed asynchronous activities and that is what is the beauty of this ToT which is making sessions engaging, entertaining and educational. During the training / sessions, Mr. Daniel and Mr. Williams are throwing the ICQ's wherever required and they are more towards asking Probing questions which is helping to extract detailed information on the topic. Overall, its a knowledge gaining and awesome learning experience so far. Awaiting such a ToT's in the near future
I have to thank FCDA and ASDC to come up with such a relevant training in this time. This was a must to attend training for any automotive trainer. The trainers Mr. William Davis and Mr. Daniel Pritchard was amazing. It is quite helpful to hear their experience along with their teaching. There were some unique training methods like collaborative assignments and motivation for pre-learning. It had been years of training only for majority of the candidates and they pulled out the student inside us. It was a very pleasant experience and everyone was trying to give their input without fear of right or not. The trainers are excellent in these act and I truly love to sit in another class of their. The only shortfall in this whole ToT is that we couldn’t get a hands-on experience because there is no physical training facility outside the factories of manufacturers.
Overall it was a very informative and organised training unlike any other. I am very much indebted to FCDA, ASDC and NPTC for providing such a wonderful training and letting me have it. I request you to extend the same to other good trainers in the country so that we could generate a high consciousness about HEVs/BEVs and their service & maintenance.

Myself Aditya Deaulgaonkar BE(Mechanical) with Honours of Electric Vehicle student from Pune University just completed my graduation. I completed two courses provided by ASDC i.e EV Shiksha Design by Toyota for HEV and second course is Fundamentals of EV Chargers conducted by Bolt. Earth in association with ASDC. From both the respective courses I had managed to learn about firstly from HEV course was Types of Hybrid system, Type of Drive used in AC compressor , components of HEV, Driving condition when the vehicle is in motion, which components is good for its features, also it's emission free and which type of arrangement gives better efficiency for driving vehicle. This all aspects are covered under that course and I'm Thankful to ASDC and Toyota of their joint venture to provide courses for free of cost to enhance
students’ knowledge and skills.
Also, I completed another course of EV Charging Infrastructure. It is also helpful for me to knowing the Types of charging stations and which level of charging station is suitable for vehicles according to their need. Also known about On- board charging system, also the how much time it takes to complete the Charing cycle for respective vehicle and all. This all I learnt from that course.
So that both the courses were helpful for me to enhance my knowledge and skills related to EV. So, Thanking you ASDC to provide that valuable course for free of cost. I hope you will provide placement regarding that also.
Thank you ASDC
